Governments of the Industrial World, you weary giants of flesh and steel, I come from Cyberspace, the new home of Mind. On behalf of the future, I ask you of the past to leave us alone. You are not welcome among us. You have no sovereignty where we gather.
We have no elected government, nor are we likely to have one, so I address you with no greater authority than that with which liberty itself always speaks. I declare the global social space we are building to be naturally independent of the tyrannies you seek to impose on us. You have no moral right to rule us nor do you possess any methods of enforcement we have true reason to fear.
Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. You have neither solicited nor received ours. We did not invite you. You do not know us, nor do you know our world. Cyberspace does not lie within your borders. Do not think that you can build it, as though it were a public construction project. You cannot. It is an act of nature and it grows itself through our collective actions.

Supporting Hillary ...a message from Cindy Sheehan
: "I thought Mrs. Clinton listened, but apparently she didn't because immediately afterwards she said the following to Sarah Ferguson of the Village Voice:
'My bottom line is that I don't want their sons to die in vain... I don't believe it's smart to set a date for withdrawal... I don't think it's the right time to withdraw.'
That quote sounds exactly like what the few Republicans I talked to that week said. Making sure that our children did not die in 'vain' sounds exactly like something George Bush says. A 'date' for withdrawal? That sounds like Rush Limbaugh to me. That doesn't sound like an opposition party leader speaking to me. What Sen. Clinton said after our meeting sounds exactly like the Republican Party talking points I heard from Senators Dole and McCain."
Ain't a lick of difference between the elites on both sides of the the aisle. Their interests are not our interests, we are but pawns in their games of domination and exploitation. Our pain and sacrifice matter to them only when it fattens their bank accounts.

It remains to be seen just how far George Bush is willing to go in exploiting the members of our uniformed services to compensate for his own lack of substance. Pretending to be a pilot at the controls of an airplane he is not qualified to fly, then strutting about on aircraft carrier deck wearing the uniform of a service he did not serve in; gathering together the willing and unwilling to provide a tapestry for his speeches. However, I must say that his recently staged "spontaneous and unrehearsed" live from Tikrit, with carefully screened soldiers already sworn to obey him under pain of courts-martial, may set a new benchmark. (By the way, hold the presses on the body armor, we need to get better Teleprompters for our troops, they had a tough time reading those cue cards and actually seemed coached.)"
Hmmm... seems even the military boys are starting to get a bit restive. Does this spell doom for dubya? (Methinks with glee, yes!)

"Some people think that because someone does not support the war, they do not support our troops. That is just not reality. There might be some soldiers that believe protest equals lack of support, but the vast majority that I served with knew that protestors were trying to end the madness.
"Yes, we fought the war, but almost none of us wanted to be there. We stayed there and fought because that's what soldiers do. Thank God that while we were there doing that some brave people back here had the courage to stand up and say that war is wrong.
"Thank God they were brave enough to act on their convictions and stand up to a government that had lied to us. I applaud you! Maybe you could have treated me a little better when I got back, but that's another letter.
" I find incredibly offensive those who have never fought a war, never fired a shot at another human being, never been shot at or hunted, or never had to listen to a good friend scream in agony, sending or supporting the sending of our brave soldiers to war for lies.
"Look at the facts. There are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. There were no connections with the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. There were no reasons to go to war. You should be outraged.
"You want to support our troops? Keep them out of war and get rid of those who would put them in harm's way, unless absolutely necessary.
"Maybe we can't leave Iraq immediately because of the mess we created, but we should get rid of those responsible for the current situation.

We also know that Bush 'won' Ohio by 51-48%, but statewide results were not matched by the court-supervised hand count of the 147,400 absentee and provisional ballots in which Kerry received 54.46% of the vote. In Cuyahoga County, Ohio the number of recorded votes was more than 93,000 greater than the number of registered voters."
