: "Which is best? The iPod or the RCA Lycra Micro Jukebox? Headphones, cell phones and polyphonic ringtones, everyone is plugged into the white noise of pure commerce. It's the new 'Turn on, tune in, and drop out.' I liked the old version better. Used appropriately, LSD posed the great questions. And sometimes highlighted a few answers, too."

We definitely need a few answers now days.

I've never i-podded, cell-phoned, or micro-jukeboxed...as ringtones are for lemmings. Never felt the urge to jump in line.

The next wave of silicon infatuation that needs to be rejected is the current upgrading in gaming consoles and systems going on. The new systems are way over-priced and over-powered; the price of games will surely rise to stay in step; and the increasing trend towards subscription on-line gaming allows no cap to be put on a game's cost. I say reject it all!

But then again, when you've got 'em by the balls, the hearts and minds soon follow...
