Beware of the Obama hype. What 'change' in America really means :: www.uruknet.info :: informazione dall'Iraq occupato :: news from occupied Iraq :: - it

"Yes, Obama’s election is historic, a symbol of great change to many. But it is equally true that the American elite has grown adept at using the black middle and management class. The courageous Martin Luther King recognised this when he linked the human rights of black Americans with the human rights of the Vietnamese, then being slaughtered by a liberal Democratic administration. And he was shot.

In striking contrast, a young black major serving in Vietnam, Colin Powell, was used to 'investigate' and whitewash the infamous My Lai massacre."

I think there are a lot of us who are realistic about Obama and about America's position and intentions. However, I think that we still support him as being such a huge departure from the previous president as to represent a much lesser evil choice than we are usually offered.

I think it's even possible that Obama has our best interest at heart, where Bush/Cheney never did. Sure, we live in a fascist plutocracy. But living in one that is not despised around the globe is a start, at least...

A black man as president, whoda thunk it?

I am warmed by the potential, but chilled by the inertia, I remain lukewarm. Rahm Emanuel and John Podesta do not a wind of change forbode.

That's true. I am wondering if there might be a method to that madness..?

Obama was sent to destroy America.
Look at the teachings of his church of early
Worship. Preaching “Not GOD BLESS AMERICA,
BUT GOD DAMN AMERICA….GOD DAMN AMERICA!!!!”
